Creamy chicken pie recipe with hearts of palm

Creamy chicken pie recipe

Ingredients for making creamy chicken pie with hearts of palm:

Pasta:

2 cups of wheat flour (280 grams)

 2 yolks

 ¾ cup of cold butter

 1 coffee spoon of salt

 1 tablespoon of oil

 2 tablespoons of water (approximately)

Filling:

400 grams of cooked and shredded chicken

150 grams of heart of palm cut into slices

100 grams of cream cheese or cream cheese

 3 tablespoons of tomato sauce

 ¾ cup of liquid milk

 2 tablespoons of wheat flour

 1 tablespoon of butter

 2 chopped garlic cloves

 ½ chopped onion

Salt and black pepper to taste)

 Chopped parsley to taste)

 4 slices of mozzarella cheese

1 yolk (to paint the dough)

How to make creamy chicken pie with hearts of palm:

First, separate the necessary ingredients to prepare the filling of your pie, as the ideal is to use it already warm or cold, in order to facilitate the assembly.

Heat the butter in a medium saucepan, then add the chopped onion, sauteing a little.

Add the minced garlic and let it cook a little longer. Add the cooked, shredded chicken and saute for a few minutes.

Add tomato sauce, salt, black pepper and mix well. Soon after, add the milk mixed with the wheat flour (well diluted) and mix the stew, stirring until it becomes creamier. Add chopped parsley and heart of palm and mix everything together.

Wait for it to warm a little and add the cream cheese to the filling. Set it aside while preparing the pie dough.

Now let's prepare the pie dough, which will be like a rotten dough. Separate all necessary ingredients.

Tip: the water will be used little by little (as needed), just to bind the dough.

Put all the ingredients (except the water) in a bowl and mix everything with your hands until it forms a kind of moist crumb. Add water little by little and shape the dough until it forms a ball and completely releases from your hands.

Tip: depending on the brand of butter and wheat flour you may need more water to get to the right spot.

With the dough ready, divide it into two parts (2/3 to line the bottom and sides of the pan and the rest to cover the pie).

Tip: At this point, preheat the oven to 180 - 200 degrees. If the dough is too soft, store it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

With the help of a rolling pin, roll out the dough (without leaving it too thin) between two plastics to facilitate the process and prevent the dough from sticking to the roll or breaking easily.

In a medium pan, greased with butter, line the bottom and sides with the dough.

Add the chicken filling with creamy hearts of palm, fill with more cream cheese or cream cheese and top with slices of mozzarella cheese.

Close the pie with the remaining dough and decorate as desired. Brush with the egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 180-200 degrees for approximately 40 minutes or until lightly browned.

Remove the pie from the oven and serve right away! We suggest serving it with rice and salad and we hope you enjoyed this recipe for chicken pie with hearts of palm rotten pastry!
